For dinner, come early and relax with one of our Southern-inspired drinks, like our signature peach margaritas. Then, dig in to any one of our generously portioned options, like our cajun chicken pasta or our famous shrimp, lobster, and crab-stuffed ultimate seafood mac and cheese.

No matter what meal you joining us for, Everybody Eats is here to serve you the joy of a homey Southern meal and all the elegance of Portland’s best chow.

Our mission goes beyond our food. We’re here to make sure everybody eats, after all. At Everybody Eats, we believe in giving back to our community, whether it’s partnering with Don’t Shoot PDX to feed Black Lives Matters supporters, feeding families in need at Thanksgiving, or fostering relationships between the Black community and police officers through food. #BlackandBluePDX

Everybody Eats PDX Our Restaurant

Our Big Move

We got our start in 2016 as a catering business— but people loved our food so much that we had to open up our first brick-and-mortar restaurant. In May 2020, inside the Oriental Value Food market on SE Powell and 172nd, we began offering takeout and counter service in addition to our catering.

With our big fanbase and even bigger goals, we quickly outgrew out old location— that’s why we’ve moved across the river!

Come join us at the restaurant of our dreams, located at 10th Avenue in the Pearl District. We’ll have: indoor and outdoor seating, a full bar, complete with Southern-inspired cocktails and huge TVs to watch your favorite sports
local DJs, fantastic live music, and exciting weekly events a sweet photo area for your #EverybodyEats503 selfies!

Meet our Chefs

Meet our Chefs

Johnny Huff Jr.

Johnny learned to cook from his family, who hail from various parts of the South including Houston and New Orleans. He was inspired to cook by his grandfather, a former Navy chef known for making massive amounts of food for family get-togethers.

In 2016, Johnny earned his Culinary Arts degree. After working as a chef in Las Vegas, returned to his hometown of Portland to found Everybody Eats with a mission in mind: making sure everybody eats. “If you got something,” said Huff, “It is your duty to make sure that everyone else has it.”

Since then, Huff has worked tirelessly to create delicious food for his customers and a better Portland for his community. “The feeling is unexplainable,” Johnny says. “The reaction you get from people when they actually try something you created… for that split second, however long they’re eating that food, they forget about everything besides the plate.”

Marcell Gross

Marcell is a passionate chef and a graduate of Oregon Culinary Institute in 2018. He’s always had a passion for the way food brings people together.

Throughout his culinary career, he’s worked with and for some of the local greats and at many community events, such as Bank for Hunger, Zingers Farms, the Central City Concern Picnic.

Throughout his culinary journey in north Portland, Marcell witnessed first-hand how food, a universal language, brings people together. Now, he’s using his cooking and his passion for outreach as a force for good to heal divides in the community. His nonprofit, Black and Blue, is strengthening the relationship between Portland police officers and people of color to create long-term social change through— you guessed it— the joy and power of food.
